In early May, I made my way out to the East Coast for Hannah and Houston's wedding in the backyard of Houston's childhood home. For a day already charged with profound meaning, I have always been drawn to backyard weddings, their subtle beauty, and the emotional weight inherent in a place of personal significance. And for this day in particular, family and friends came together beautifully to pull off the celebration. Hannah had her mom style her hair for her. Houston's dad home-brewed beers of all varieties. Houston's mom even arranged for me to stay close by with a sweet, neighbor family. After the ceremony, we wandered through a wooded path down to the water's edge where Hannah and Houston shared their first kiss several years before. In every way, this day was very special for me to be a part of, and I am deeply grateful to Hannah, Houston and their families and friends for welcoming me into the fold, and making me feel right at home in Maryland.
