I was deeply honored to document Bryana and Brett’s backyard wedding at their home near Houghton in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This same house was Brett’s childhood home; he and his brothers used to ride bikes in the backyard they converted to their ceremony and reception site. Bryana is a talented photographer herself, and both of them are incredibly kind and sincere souls. Many thanks to Brett for lending me a dry pair of shoes and socks after I slipped and took an unplanned dip in a river before the ceremony. :) After the ceremony we wandered across the street into an open field drenched in gold by the sinking sun. This was my first real visit to the U.P. and I hope very much to return to see more of this beautiful part of Michigan with my family.
